IATA Global Distribution Systems Fares and Ticketing Course

This is a self explanatory computer-based training (CBT) programme that teaches basic and advanced fare construction principles, as well as GDS entries to price journeys and issue tickets. It is designed for travel consultants or airline personnel, whose main task is to sell international air transportation on behalf of IATA Member Airlines. You will learn through realistic GDS simulation by choosing Amadeus.

    1. Study one of these three GDS systems: Amadeus, Galileo or Sabre
    2. Introduction to air fares, analysing itineraries and retrieving fares from a GDS
    3. Introduction to the mileage system
    4. Practice pricing one way and circle trips
    5. Limitations on indirect travel, side trips and surface sectors
    6. Backhauls, circle trips, journeys in different classes of service and alternative fare break points
    7. Lowest combinations, round-the-world journeys, sales indicators and minimum checks
    8. Currency conversion, taxes and practice ticketing
