Civil Aviation is a very important infrastructure segment in boosting trade, commerce and enhancing and enhancing overall international competitiveness.

In value terms, nearly 30% of India’s foreign trade is handled by the airports. The growth in the domestic & international cargo traffic is also estimated to increase by 4.5% & 12% respectively, over a period of next 10 years.

The aviation industry in India is expected to grow at a rate of about 16 percent. The India civil aviation ministry expects 80 million passengers in India by 2020. The number of air travellers increased by a record 38.5 percent in 2006 2007. India anticipates the doubling of passenger traffic over the next decade.
